The Commander gets his feet wet. He wants to see what we face when we do our jobs. This helps him to appreciate what a Firefighter does and faces when he's asked if he knows what we do and why we training so hard.
Seeing a picture doesn't let you feel the heat, but you can get a pretty good idea of how hot it can get.
